Looking forward at the line stowage. Great idea, poor shape. The engine control cables have been removed. This line hanger is going to be replaced as soon as I come up with an idea and some time. The old line holder system is made from steel screw in eye loops and hooks. The are all rusty and not to mention somewhat sharp from corrosion. This is not really anything I want to encounter with wet, cold hands while digging around for lines or trying to hang up lines.

A view from the cabin through the access cover.

Glues, clamps and dreams of hanging lines. The back is 5/8" marine mahogany ply and the top and bottom are milled 1/2" oak. I'm down to using up scraps in the shop.

The upper peg is for holding the restraining line. The bottom hole is counter sunk to accept the knot of the restraining line.

The upper peg glued with polyurethane and held against the peg stop. The peg stop is not only functional but artistic.

The full assembly without the restraining lines.

The old line holder system.

One coat of stain and I will varnish to finish.

I looped the end of the 1/8" Dacron cord and tied them off with a dozen or more wraps using #4 waxed whipping twine. All line ends were melted with a lighter and then sealed together with a bead of super glue gel.

Here is the finished line holder. The holding lines will need to be shortened once the holder is installed in the laz. Before I can install this in the laz, I will need to clean it out and make it worthy of such an upgrade .

A combination of bilge discharge line and VHF antenna cable.
