Headliner

The headliner is a plastic laminate like formica with a woodgrain pattern. There were several large fade spots that actually had no woodgrain pattern. After sanding and attempting to stain the headliner, it was a lost cause trying to maintain a wood appearance.

Before paint cut in and trim.

After trim is installed. The backing pad for the stantion will be replaced with some new mahogany.

Santa was generous and gave me a deal on some Pettit EasyPoxy. After prepping the surface, two coats were applied with great coverage and it almost matched the existing color of the interior fiberglass.

With all of the woodwork looking so shiny, we now have to wear sunglasses inside the cabin.

My daughter Sam is installing the refinished trim to the headliner. The blotchyness on the headliner is actually condensation. The outside temperature is only 33 degrees.

After numerous enquiries about these curtains, I have decided to offer them on eBay. They should demand a high price because of their unique design which will go with anything.

The skipper told me that I didn't have a picture of the headliner with the center trim installed. Well, here is it.

Here is the same shot with controlled mood lighting. It has that sort of "moon lit ambience" that is highly romantic in some countries I intend on sailing to.
