Speakers

It all starts with a plan. No matter how simple or elaborate, I get paid the same.

Putting the teak sides together with Gorilla glue and setting the inside corner supports which will also be used to attach the face plate with a lot of clamps.

The face plate is 14" ply which will hold the two speakers. I decided to install the speakers in the same cabinet due to the lack of room in the cabin. Stereo separation is really not an issue here.

Same faceplate with a coat of Minwax Gunstock stain. (The same stain used throughout the interior.)

High pressure clamps and backing rail for faceplate.

A last minute change was to place additional support in the middle of the speaker box.

Speakers temporarily mounted for fit, prior to varnish coats. I am reusing the old speakers that came on the boat. They seem to work fine and I'm really not looking for high power stereo, just clean and functional.

Starting the varnish coats.

The finished speaker box. Simple yet possibly functional.

Mounting to bulkhead....

The finished goods.
