Cabin Lighting 9/6/09

Finally after a couple years of procrastinating, I have come up with a design for the cabin lighting. The old fixtures with halogen bulbs were using too much valuable battery power, so LEDs are in order.

Hand Holds / Light fixtures 9/09

10/09 Ater painting the vinyl, making new light fixture/handholds. Skipper Sue is making new curtains withthis pattern. I really like it.

Replacing the paddle style trim with a verticle hand hold to also act as the curtain support. This is the verticle channel to hide the supply wire to LED lighting.

Stand off blocks for the hand holds.

Glueing up the hand holds.

Handrails second coat of epoxy.

Handrail backing, also epoxy coated, will mount with stainless screws from the outside of cabin.

The old stanchion backing plate, warped mohagany ply.

The old backing plates were not worth refinishing so new ones were in order. I had some scrap Teak marine ply that was big enough to get these two plates out of it.

10/09 Curtain Rods

Rods mounted after two coats of epoxy.

Rod holder on aft bulkhead, shaped from 3/4" mohagany.

I like this curtain pattern, so I want to see it large.
