Haulout 101

We chose Colony Warf for the haul out and we were glad we did. The people were friendly and helpful and very tolerant of our questions and concerns. I would highly recommend them for your haul out and ins when you are in Bellingham,WA.

There's Mark operating the crane. Mark allowed us to remove the mast earlier than scheduled, which made for a less stressful step in our haul out.

Bye bye mast! It looked like it was a thousand feet in the air.

Here is our baby looking like an offshore racer.

The crew at Colony Warf, Amber, Mark, Me and Derrick (not pictured is Blaine - also a great help). I asked Amber where I could find "live music" in Bellingham, she knew every place except one. Once again, a very helpful crew that I would recommend for your service needs in Bellingham.

Here I am, depressed that at least for the next few hours, I have nothing to worry about.

Derrick from Associated Boat Movers, Anacortes,WA moved the boat from Bellingham to Tacoma. He secured everything that I forgot and everything I was too lazy to do myself. Great job and service.

Alan from Foss Marina is a very helpful and friendly guy at the marina. We are preparing to drop the boat back into the water in Tacoma. Piece of cake and the price was right.

Here she is, getting ready to have her bottom wet. Alan at the controls. We were informed days prior, that the lift was being permanently removed from the marina. I was really hoping it would still be here by the time the boat arrived for the haul-in. First come first served with the lift. Other marinas and yards have an appointment process which was really adding to the difficulty of scheduling the move and haul-in. Sue and I were discussing how everyone that has been involved in the boat storage and moving process had been very helpful and friendly. Now how often can you brag about that?

The aerodynamic properties of the Coronado 25 lend itself to modification for flying. I am thinking of adding a couple of wings and a bigger prop on the outboard. We're putting her in Tacoma water, get use to it baby!
