[ July 2009 - Circle Bainbridge Island ]

Our journey begins in Hendersen Bay, launching from the Purdy Spit. The day before saw 12 mph winds, today, there is no wind.

I am handling the tiller and mainsheet while maintaining forward motion with the use of a Honda outboard.

Technique is a valuable option in sailing. Notice how I hold the boom in place so as to "seem" that there is a wind.

Landing at our destination Cutts Island (Deadman's Island) we observe natures' delicate forms of life, without touching or interacting in any way. We invited the seal over for a cup of coffee but it declined.

Fruitcake at rest temporarily.

Mooring lines at the ready.

Notice the two half hitches and overhand slip not. Not typical, but adequate. The sign indicates "NO SPRAY PAINTING" or "NO CIRCLES", I think.

No trip is complete without a "Boom Babe"

We have the island all to ourselves.

Skipper Sue posing after a well-charted course saw us to our destinaiton without incident.
