Bellingham Bay

Just a reminder of how close we were to being out of town.
Inlaid sidewalks everywhere. Some kind of artsy fartsy thing.
An interesting van in downtown Bellingham. Just had to have a picture.
Skipper Sue getting the cabin cleaned and stocked.
Trying to fill the boat up with stuff.
It was a long way to get these carts to the boat, stocking up for a four day cruise in unfamiliar waters and Washingtons' famous "winter storm weather."
Late at night during one of our "boat stocking" trips. Squalicum Marina is actually pretty nice when it is not raining and windy and freezing.
Midnight shot of flowers at the dock.
Tied up prior to a shakedown cruise.
My first view of the main sail. My goodness, it sure is big!
The skipper hangin' out on the bow.

Heading back in, wondering where the marina is as well as the channel marker. It doesn't seem like a big deal now, but it was then.
Returning from our first sail. With a big storm coming, we decided not to depart for Tacoma. Instead, we used the small window of opportunity to do a shakedown cruise, and what a good idea that was. No way was she ready for a four day cruise.
Safely back at the marina, waiting for the much anticipated storm. We are going to come back and have the boat trailered to Tacoma. Disappointed but safe. It was a good thing that we decided not the sail because the arriving storm would have caused us great stress as well putting the boat and crew at great risk. Things happen for a reason.
